Fine dining in song

WHEN you hear the words “Mr Jones and Me” you could be forgiven for thinking of the song made popular by the Counting Crows in the 90s. However, Paul and Ferne Lammens give the words a new meaning with their locally inspired Cafe Bar and Grill named after the song.
Mr Jones and Me owners Paul and Ferne established the much-loved restaurant after settling in Noosa 12 months ago, and have poured their hearts into the development of the local hotspot.
“Paul and I met many years ago and ‘Mr Jones and Me’ was the first song we danced to,” Ferne said.
“When we were driving around looking for a site for our restaurant the song came on the radio and we knew it had to be the name.”
Ferne and Paul fell in love with the location of their soon-to-be restaurant and after a short fit-out revealed the new-look restaurant mid last year.
“We wanted to design a place for the locals, they’re our main focus, and we wanted to create somewhere they could come and relax time and time again.”
Now nine months old, Mr Jones and Me is a restaurant designed by locals for locals which suits all budgets and moods.
“Anyone can afford to come here, we have an array of menu options for all budgets; from affordable burgers to 100-day grain fed eye fillet,” Ferne said.
“We have designed the menu to be as relaxed or as formal as you like.
“With our head chef Tom, we have reinvigorated old classics and brought them into 2016 with a modern twist.”
On the menu you will find classics from your childhood such as beef and mushroom filo, sticky pork burgers and Paul’s own creation, and very popular, Slice of Summer a honeycomb ice-cream and meringue dessert which is sure to impress.
You will find personal touches throughout the restaurant giving you a sense of family with Harold, the good luck rabbit which staff would rub for good luck at the start of each month, and personal dishes such as the delicious share plate which ex-chef Paul would make for friends at home.
Whether you want to catch up with a friend over a light meal and one of the many craft beers on offer, or wish to impress that special someone with a decadent cocktail and elegant dining experience, Mr Jones and Me is the place to be.
Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and conveniently located at 301 Weyba Road, Noosaville, you’ll make Mr Jones and Me your favourite local in no time. To book a table, call the friendly staff on 5474 1394 or check out the menu at www.mrjonesandmenoosa.com.au.
