Country Music Icon, James Blundell Serenades Noosa

By Hollie Harris

Icon, legend, rebel have all been used to describe James Blundell. One thing is for sure, he’s an Australian country music super-star.
He’s been acknowledged by many as the act that single-handedly shaped modern Australian country music by infusing his influences of John Mellencamp, The Band and The Angels with the storytelling ethos of Slim Dusty and his lyrical insight, sharp wit and empathy for the average working man. This combined with his handsome good looks and country charm ensured there was no stopping his success across all demographics.
His list of awards and honours is extensive and in 2012 he was announced as the inaugural inductee into the Country Music Channel Hall of Fame. Last year marked Blundell’s 30th Anniversary in music and saw the launch of his fourteenth album, ‘Campfire’. A tribute album to James Blundell, ‘30 Years of Pride’ was also released with a collection of James Blundell songs interpreted by his musical friends including Adam Brand, Tania Kernaghan, Brewn, Bec Lavelle and more.
He is currently on his 2018 tour and his first stop in Queensland is right here in Noosa at Tewantin Noosa RSL on Saturday 24th March from 8.30pm. This is your only chance to catch him before he heads to North Queensland.
Tickets are $25 for Tewantin Noosa RSL Members and $30 for non-members and are available from the club or via dial-n-charge on 5447 1766. But book early as space is limited!
