Have your say in driving Noosa forward

It's time to talk business in Noosa.

LOCALS are urged to have their say on ways to boost Noosa’s economy at the next public meeting on Monday 25 May from 4.30pm.
So far, more than 60 people have turned out to have their say on the development of a Local Economic Plan for the shire at the first of two public meetings.
Noosa Council economic development officer Carolyn Bullen said residents who missed out had a further opportunity to contribute their ideas this Monday 25 May at the second workshop, to be held at The J.
“The forums are a great way for local business people, and anyone with an interest in Noosa’s economy, to offer suggestions on ways to support our local economy,” she said.
“It was great to see such a strong interest in the first workshop with more than 60 people putting forward ideas to be considered in a Local Economic Plan.”
The workshop heard from Michael Campbell of AEC Group who spoke about Noosa’s key economic indicators.
Ms Bullen said much of the discussion focused on developing future economic opportunities and identifying potential impediments.
“Other topics included how to avoid social disadvantage and how to respond to the rate of growth of different sectors of the economy, and to make the most of economic opportunities associated with Noosa’s Biosphere status,” she said.
“Those who missed out on the first workshop are most welcome to come along on Monday.”
Residents can also have a say by making a submission at Council’s Your Say Noosa website at yoursay.noosa.qld.gov.au
The workshop on Monday 25 May will be held at The J, Noosa Drive, Noosa Junction, from 4.30pm to 7.30pm.
