Chef secrets shared at festival

The days of chefs keeping their secrets to themselves are gone according to celebrity chef Miguel Maestre who, at the Noosa Wine and Food Festival on the weekend, said lessons learnt by Noosa chefs would be one of the lasting legacies of the event.

Miguel said one of the values for local restauranteurs would be the inspiration gleaned from visiting national and international chefs.

While he and other visitors were in Noosa to enjoy local produce not available in their hometowns and to bring their families on holiday to a beautiful destination.

Fabulous weather, some of the best chefs in Australia and great entertainment made for a successful Noosa Food and Wine Festival over the weekend.

A Tourism Noosa spokeswoman said there were more than 70 events on offer and most were sold out.

Events took place at the new Festival Village in Noosa Heads Lions Park, under the Noosa Tipi on Noosa Main Beach, along Hastings Street at the Long Lunch on Saturday, in signature restaurants throughout Noosa and in produce and brewery trails throughout the hinterland.

This year’s return to the Noosa Heads Lions Parks proved to be a popular option on Saturday and Sunday.

Cooking demonstrations and master classes were crowded, there were queues at the pop up restaurant stalls and guests were keen to taste and buy local products from the produce pavilion.
