In the thick of it

By JONATHON HOWARD

THE Expendables is back for a third action-packed instalment with all your favourite action stars.
Staying true to The Expendables franchise, this instalment offers viewers the same tongue-in-cheek humour and action scenes the entire way through.
The Expendables 3 (M) was directed by Patrick Hughes, and written by Creighton Rothenberger and Katrin Benedikt (Olympus Has Fallen) and, of course, Sylvester Stallone.
It is a sequel to the 2012 action film The Expendables 2, and features returning and new cast members Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Antonio Banderas, Jet Li, Wesley Snipes, Dolph Lundgren, Mel Gibson, Harrison Ford and Arnold Schwarzenegger, to name just a few.
The story follows the mercenary group known as “The Expendables” as they come into conflict with ruthless arms dealer Conrad Stonebanks (Gibson), the Expendables’ co-founder, who is determined to destroy the team.
