Rates in the mail

In brief

NOOSA Council rates notices are in the mail, with payment due by 20 November to qualify for a five per cent discount on the general rate.
You can pay your rates by BPAY, by credit card over the phone, at any Australia Post Office, in person at council, by direct debit or online at www.noosa.qld.gov.au.
Noosa Council corporate services director Michael Shave said residents were reminded that credit card payments now attracted a 0.05 per cent surcharge.
“Ratepayers who do not wish to incur the surcharge can choose to pay via alternative methods such as BPAY from a savings account, or by direct debit,” he said.
A direct debit application form is available from council’s website at www.noosa.qld.gov.au.
Ratepayers who have not received their rates notice by the end of January should contact council on 5329 6500.

Survey to find needs
RESIDENTS are being asked how they’d best like to stay up to date with Noosa Council news and affairs and participate in council decision-making.
An online communications survey, launched this week, includes questions about the types of media residents’ access, their social media use and whether council could improve the way it currently communicates.
Community engagement manager Debra Bambrook said residents’ feedback will help council better understand how the community wants to access council information.
“We aim to make sure we’re communicating as effectively as cost-efficiently as we can,” she said.
Residents who are on council’s ratepayer email database will soon receive an invitation to take part in the short, five-minute survey.
Residents who don’t receive an email can fill out the survey online via the link at yoursay.noosa.qld.gov.au
Professional market research company Market Facts is administering the survey.
The communications survey is open for four weeks and residents who participate have a chance to win two books about Noosa.
