Soul food for the stomach

Best-selling cookbook author Lee Holmes is coming to Noosa to help locals supercharge their new year.
Lee will host a special Green Brunch at The River Read on Sunday 8 February from 11am as well as launch her latest book Supercharged Food: Eat Clean, Green and Vegetarian.
Wellness warrior Lee has a passion for vegetables and insists people don’t need to love yoga, kale or braids to enjoy vegetarian food.
“Eating real, whole, unprocessed and nutrient-rich food is the best health insurance policy we have,” Lee said.
Lee’s latest book is a complete guide to creating delicious, healthy and curative meals to satisfy the stomach and the soul.
She has ensured each recipe can be adapted to suit individual dietary needs, with icons indication vegan, wheat-free, gluten-free or sugar-free for quick and easy reference.
For each recipe in Lee’s new book, there is also nutritional information and details on how to store and prepare food for optimum health, plus a shopping guide and meal planner.
River Read co-owner Lucinda Morley said staff were excited to welcome Lee to Noosa.
“Her books are very popular with our customers so we thought it would be great to have her here to share her story and give us all some tips and tricks and get on track for a fit and healthy 2015,” Lucinda said.
The River Read has partnered with new neighbour Penny Green to provide juice and smoothie samples and healthy snacks for the morning brunch.
Tickets to the event are free but numbers are limited.
