Eyes of the tiger

By Margaret Maccoll

White Tiger Tattoo and Village Bicycle teamed up on Sunday to showcase the talents of skateboard artists and auction the artworks to raise funds for a local teenager with muscular dystrophy.
White Tiger Tattoo co-owner Meredyth Saunders said 30 artists from across the country had entered the Dream Big charity skateboard art show and auction.
Money raised from the auction will go toward helping her partner’s younger brother Jake Steifler to gain a driver license and a car that can be modified to accommodate his disability.
Meredyth said after the success of the inaugural event they planned to host one each year with funds to go to a local individual who needs assistance.
“The community has been so good,” she said. “We want to make it bigger next year and attract artists from around the world.”
