Wet weather proves a spoiler

With the wet weather, a number of games had to be cancelled due to ground closures, but with some games transferred to the ever reliable Dolphins Oval, a few Noosa teams still managed to take to the field this weekend.
U10 Noosa Fins 39 d St Andrews 12
St Andrews did well to hold the Fins off until the second half when the onslaught began. Inspired by strong drives from Joe Rowles and Joe Siemon alike, Noosa dominated. Jarrah Charlesworth and Josh Whitehill both enjoyed good spells of possession and an unforgiving display from Jason Burns earned him two tries. Another Lachie Dudgeon hat-rick and tries from James Gelling and Ethan Pohlner sealed off a great display.
Try scorers: Lachie Dudgeon (3), Jason Burns (2), James Gelling, Ethan Pohlner. Domino’s Pizza Player of the Match was Jason Burns
U10 Noosa Reds 5 – Grammar 24
Noosa worked really hard in defence today against a determined Grammar side. Some great tackles from Noosa and a well deserved try from Jackson Westphal. Domino’s Pizza Player of the Match was Patrick Breen for some seriously good tackling.
The number of games played over the weekend were also reduced due to the Sunshine Coast Junior Stingrays trials being held, with many players given an opportunity to show their talents in front of the selectors. Squads should be confirmed early this week. Under 12s, 13s and 14 trials were held at Dolphin Oval on Sunday with an open Under 16s trial held at Caloundra.
Under 12s trials featured many boys, and at least one girl, turning up to impress. A large Noosa contingent were named to take part. They included: Jack Robson, Amy Brice, Gus Fitzgerald, Adam Johnston, Ethan Williams, Lachie Franklin, Matthew Brice, Sam O’Connor, Christian Vidic, Kye Atkinson, Connor Chilver, Seb Whitehill, Charlie Patterson, Michael Cuttliffe and Jack Frey
Under 13s and 14s took part in a series of Probables vs Possibles matches. A number of Noosa players took their opportunity to impress selectors. Players selected for trials included:
Under 13s – Harry Barnett, Luke Bourne, Jaydyn Hebin-Botha, Liam Manssen, Yvahn Allsworth and Tavita Roma
Under 14s – Adam Jurisevic, Jesse Russell, Matthew Leo, Paddy Sobey, Alex Moses, John Gelling and Leo Enkelman
Good luck to all players who are selected in Stingrays squads for the upcoming representative competitions to be held in July.
