COMMUNITY groups can visit Noosa Council’s webpage for helpful advice about securing grant funding and assistance.
www.noosa.qld.gov.au/more-grants-guidance includes links to a range of grant funding programs, as well as presentations from last week’s popular Grants, Network and Nibbles night.
More than 130 people attended the event, which council hosted to connect community groups with grant funding providers.
“Feedback from community group representatives who came along has been overwhelmingly positive. With the presentations from each of the funding providers now online, other community groups too can access the wealth of advice provided,” Community Development Co-ordinator Alison Hamblin said.
Ms Hamblin said council was considering hosting further Grants, Network and Nibbles nights, given the event’s popularity.
“Because there were so many presenters, and they only had five minutes each, we all learned quickly and easily what they can do for the community,” she said.
“We even had a big giggle at a couple of presenters; it was a really fun night.”
Council’s grants webpage includes information from organisations such as the Department of National Parks, Sport and Racing, the June Canavan Foundation, Gambling Community Benefit Fund, Unitywater, Cooroy Rag, Noosa FM, and the University of the Sunshine Coast.
“It’s also the place to go for grant writing tips as well as information on Noosa Council’s own grants programs,” Ms Hamblin said.
