Superheroes call the shots

IS IT a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s the students of Kin Kin State School here to save the day!
Last Friday the students dressed up as their favourite superheroes and patrolled the halls and playgrounds of Kin Kin State School on the lookout for villains.
Luckily there were no villains, just a lot of tights, capes, masks and some very original ideas, according to teacher’s aide Miss Stewart.
“The Superhero theme was decided by student councillors of our school who are in Years 4 to 6,” Miss Stewart said.
“[They] designed the flyers and passed them around to all the Kin Kin students. A gold coin was donated by all the students to raise funds for childhood cancer awareness.”
It wasn’t only the students who got into the superhero spirit; staff also donned their favourite capes and masks and had fun doing so, according to Clark Kent, erm, I mean, principal Trent Shaw.
“It’s always fun to dress up, be creative and have a laugh at ourselves as well as raise funds for such a worthy cause,” Mr Shaw said.
