Busby Marou has your back.

By Hollie Harris

Friday 1 June sees the incredible BUSBY MAROU playing a gig in The Brewery as part of their ‘Got Your Back’ Tour. The boys will be supported by much loved New Zealand songwriter JAMIE McDELL on the night.

Busby Marou are flying high after an amazing 2017. Their latest album ‘Postcards From The Shellhouse’ debuted at #1 on the national ARIA charts and they sold 3,000 tickets to the first annual One Hot Night festival in Rockhampton.

The latest single Got Your Back is proving to be one of their most loved to date and is reason enough to take their sounds of celebration on one last headline tour of Australia’s east coast for 2018. The rest of this year will be dedicated to writing and recording their fourth studio album, due for release in 2019.

“There’s something special about Busby Marou,” says Tom, the songwriting hub and lead vocal of the duo. “At the bottom of it all it’s two blokes singing with harmonies and a bit of storytelling.”

Early in their career Tom and Jeremy would sit around a campfire there and sing songs, one or two of which ended up on record. Last year, with producer Jon Hume in tow, that same method in the same location produced a few songs for the new album.

“This last year has been huge and watching the crowds sing along to these latest bunch of songs has definitely been our highlight”, says Tom. “We’re stoked that this song is getting a lot of love. Can’t wait for this lap.”
