Murray’s Heartbeat

Byron Bay singer-songwriter and one of Australia’s most loved musicians, Pete Murray has today announced a stunning remix of his song Heartbeats, by ARIA-awarding winning Peter Mayes and you can catch him at The V Room, Villa Noosa next month!

Pete has also dropped a video for the remix, a short film seeking to inspire audiences to cherish the love they share with others while they still can. To celebrate, Pete has also announced a 3 piece acoustic tour that will cross the country playing intimate club shows, supported nationally by exciting newcomer, Matthew Armitage.

This remix of Heartbeats is subtle, and truly showcases Pete’s diversity as an artist. Peter Mayes has expertly crafted understated percussion that percolates underneath Pete’s vocal, and propels the track from heartfelt ballad into edgy new territory for Pete Murray. Fans are sure to love this rework of Heartbeats just as much as the original. “I’m excited to try and do things a little differently these days,” Pete says, “this Heartbeats remix from Peter Mayes is a fun new thing for me and I’m stoked with how it came out.”

The video for the Heartbeats accurately reflects the song’s lyrical theme through an honest and affecting lens. Directed by Corey Donaldson (Alex L’Estrange, Swilo, Sundown Jury), the clip is propelled by a narrative that highlights the thrill of young love, and the devastation that can ensue. Filmed in Pete’s hometown of Byron Bay, the opening sequence of the headland is a recurring setting that powerfully and poignantly closes this stunningly evocative short film. It is moving, and beautiful, just as the song is.

2017 was a massive year for Pete, with his ARIA award-nominated album Camacho debuting at number 3 on the ARIA charts, and a packed-out 33 date album tour across Australia. With over one million album sales to his name, the quiet achiever of Australian music is committed to constantly growing as an artist and offering fans new and exciting material with each release.

Pumped to hit the road and play acoustic versions of his popular songs for fans across Australia, Pete enthuses, “I love acoustic tours as it’s always great to strip songs back to their bare bones and do cool versions of them. This tour is going to be a lot of fun and will also be a three piece tour, something I have never done before in Australia”

Heartbeats (Peter Mayes remix) is set for release on March 21. The album Camacho is available now.

This is an 18+ event and tickets are available at www.villanoosa.com.au. It’s only $50 and is on Thursday 05 July (opening 7:00 PM) at Villa Noosa.
