IF you went down to the woods on Sunday, you would have been in for a big surprise. More than 400 children and teddy bears were busy having a picnic at Lions Park, Gympie Terrace, as part of the Noosa Long Weekend Festival.
The picnic was topped off with stunning winter weather and a large turnout for the free community event.
Throughout the day, children were treated to storytelling, face painting, art classes and balloon animals.
Major event sponsor Acres Noosa spokesperson said the event was a huge success and it was great to see smiles on so many faces.
The Noosa Long Weekend Festival runs until 27 July. For the full list of events, visit www.noosalongweekend.com
