Fair change is on the way

ARCADIA Street and Lanyana Way will soon be transformed when the annual Junction Flava Food and Wine Street Fair comes to town on Saturday 12 September.
Event organisers, the Noosa Junction Association, said there would be even more local Flava this year with the event to showcase musicians, artisan talent and a kid’s corner.
There will be more fun, more value, and more Flava with even more Junction foodies joining the fun for this year’s street party.
Now in its third year, the street fair kicks off at 11am on Saturday 12 September and will offer food from around the world as the Junction’s favourite foodies showcase their fabulous fare.
The team from Village Bicycle will man the bar while the Quencher’s pedal-powered juices are back by popular demand.
Joining the festival are the Curry Junction Cafe, Kimchi Korean restaurant, Jardin Japonesque, Black Pepper, Pasta Pronto, Mystic India, Red Ink cafe and bar, Canteen, Ipazzi Ristorante and many more.
Noosa Junction Association president Carole Tretheway said the festival appealed to both locals and visitors.
“As always we strive to keep the day affordable for local families and holiday makers and food vouchers can be purchased from just $5,” she said.
“It’s a day to celebrate the diversity of the Junction. Our local Flava extends beyond our eclectic food and beverages on offer, to music, arts, fashion, beauty, health and well-being. We have so many unique businesses, restaurants, bars and cafes across the precinct.
“The Flava Food and Wine Fest is our invitation to locals to experience the quality and variety they have right on their doorstep.”
Entry to the festival is free and there is a line-up of free live entertainment with a range of choice from live music to dance lessons and hip-hop.
“Families are encouraged to bring a picnic rug, claim their spot and sit back and enjoy the entertainment,” Carole said.
A highlight will be the return of the Waiters’ Race being organised by Ruby from Ipazzi Ristorante.
Last year’s winners, Quenchers, will have pride on the line as they battle the Junction’s favourite waiters to retain the trophy.
