An offer from Skills Alliance trainees to repaint their clubhouse inside and out, for free, was an offer Peregian Tennis Club accepted with much gratitude.
Court manager Andrew Veale said the small, three court not-for-profit club needed to put aside any surplus funds towards re-surfacing their courts so they were thrilled to receive the repaint.
“This is not something the club had within its budget and it means our clubhouse is back to its best. It looks great,” he said.
The club welcomed the Skills Alliance Community-Work-Skills Project team trainees from 9 to 13 October, along with their supervisor Gary.
The team is about to graduate (potential employers take note) after completing their Certificate I in Construction, by working on recreation spaces and facilities across the Sunshine Coast.
The clubs and facilities supplied the paint and materials, Skills Alliance did the rest.
The work team also used their building skills to construct a new bench seat and re-furbish the club’s tired old noticeboard.
Peregian Tennis Club thanked the crew for their hard work with a barbecue and drinks at the end of their final day.
