Heads held high

NOOSA was well-presented at the National Softball Titles with five Noosa locals heading to the competition held in Sydney and Redlands last week.
Four under-15 players and one under-19 player represented Queensland and came out on top despite rain, 38-degree heat and a broken nose.
The only female to attend was Shinae who represented the under-19 girls at Redlands. Shinae pitched well all tournament only to bow out in the finals, a great effort considering she played with a broken nose from a training accident.
Meanwhile, in Sydney the four under-15 and under-19 boy representatives, battled 38-degree heat coming away with their heads held high.
Luke, who represented the under-19s, was the starting catcher in the grand finals for the Queensland team, which finished second overall.
Two of the under-15 boys, Dylan and Charles, pitched and catched throughout most games and helped their team to finish in third position.
Riley’s team was the overall winner making their way into the grand final the hard way by playing three games in six hours.
Riley finished the day with good stats including two rbi’s, three catches, five tag outs and no errors in the field.
