TO celebrate 15 fabulous years, the Noosa Long Weekend festival has announced it will kick off this year’s festival with the biggest and best street party ever.
Musicians, dancers, drummers, floats, fire-eaters, feathers and glitz, culminating in a precision landing of five skydivers on Noosa Main Beach will make this the street party of the year.
Festival director Ian Mackellar said this was a way to say “thanks” to the community.
“For 15 years, the Noosa community has supported us, so this is our way of saying thanks,” he said.
“Bring the kids and join in the fun as we turn Hastings Street into ‘Rio’ for two fun filled hours.”
The street party will officially open the 2016 Noosa Long Weekend Festival kicking off what promises to be the best festival ever with over 250 artists descending on Noosa, providing 88 performances over 10 magical days and nights of music, theatre, food and fun.
