Markus shares the work rate

AFTER 25 years of competing in the Noosa Tri, 84-year-old Markus Hanley has decided to retire. Well, sort of.
The veteran competitor will still take part in the 2016 Noosa Tri, but this year he will share the load.
Markus has teamed up with two other competitors to form the Old Buggers Team with a total of 240-years between them.
The team consists of Markus, 84, who will complete the swim leg and two other athletes from Surfers Paradise; Joh Ward, 82, who will be the team’s runner and Paul Salmon, 74, who will complete the cycle leg of the Olympic-length course.
Markus has been a much-loved sight on the Tri course for the past 25 years and spectators can still cheer him on as he completes the swim leg from Noosa Main Beach.
