If you have ever thought about taking part in bike riding, then perhaps the Tour de Noosa – The Garth Prowd Ride is for you.
As a part of the Noosa Triathlon, the ride is a brisk recreational ride on a 28km course over a section of the Noosa Triathlon Bike course with all proceeds going towards the Garth Prowd OAM Triathlon Scholarship. The ride is open to everyone young and old.
The scholarships continue the legacy created by Garth Prowd at the Noosa Triathlon in assisting athletes to reach their full potential.
Garth Prowd, the man affectionately known as the ‘Godfather’ of Australian triathlon, a pioneer of sport tourism in Queensland and passionate athletes’ advocate had his life cut short earlier this year in a tragic accident. His incredible life and his contribution to Australian sport will be remembered.
Proceeds from the Tour de Noosa – The Garth Prowd Ride will go towards the Garth Prowd Triathlon Scholarship, an ongoing legacy program to continue his great work of creating opportunities and pathways for athletes.
The Tour de Noosa is on Friday 3 November. Meet at Noosa Heads Surf Lifesaving Club, 5am to 5.45am for Tour de Noosa Garth Prowd Ride Check In and Event Day Entries, for a 6am start.
