Stars shine on Noosa

NOOSA has a reputation as a playground for the rich and famous and 2014 has certainly shone with star power.
Major festivals such as the Noosa International Food and Wine Festival in May, drew the likes of X Factor winner Dami Im, plus a list of celebrity chefs such as Matt Preston, Adriano Zumbo and Matt Golinski.
The Noosa Long Weekend in July hosted a swag of entertainment celebrities including Rhonda Burchmore and comedian Fiona O’Loughlin.
Musicians Wendy Matthews dropped by to perform at the Sunshine Beach Surf Club in June, and Darryl Braithwaite performed at Noosa Villa in June.
It seems comedian Dave Hughes can’t get enough of Noosa with two performances at The J in July and then again in November. Jimoen also entertained the crowds at The J in January.
Noosa was also the holiday place of choice for Channel 9’s The Block contestants with The Block All Star contestants Phil and Amity dropping by in January and then in July, The Block Fans Vs Favs stars Brad and Kyal dropped into Noosa for a conference.
This year was also the year Noosa hosted it’s very first major music festival, thanks to East Coast Originals, who run the monthly free community concerts in Peregian and Cooroy.
The festival was a huge success attracting more than 4000 event-goers to see the likes of Sticky Fingers, Kingswood and Ash Grunwald perform at the Noosa Tigers AFL grounds in September.
