Valuable win for Noosa business

ProScribe Medical Communications, recent winner of the Premier of Queensland’s Regional Exporter of the Year Award, has started 2014 with a valuable win and one that is rare for any Australian business.

The Noosa-based, knowledge-economy, export-focused business has attracted an international buyer. ProScribe has joined the Envision Pharma Group, an industry-leading, global technology and scientific communication company servicing 18 of the world’s top 20 healthcare companies.  ProScribe founders, Professor Karen Woolley and Dr Mark Woolley, will join Envision’s senior management team and, from their Noosa-based office, will continue to lead ProScribe’s dedicated team of PhD- and MD-qualified medical writers. Envision’s US Executive Director (Client Solutions), Alex Torre-Tasso, and ProScribe staff from throughout Australia have flown into Noosa this week to celebrate joining Envision and to plan for the future at ProScribe’s Annual Meeting. Dr Woolley said: “For 14 years, we have led ProScribe from Noosa, creating employment opportunities for highly trained staff and providing rewarding contracts for local service providers.  Envision clearly recognised the quality of work from our staff and suppliers.  Envision’s investment and belief in our team, and the increasing importance of the Asia-Pacific region, will allow us to provide even more opportunities for our clients, staff, and suppliers in the years ahead.” As less than three per cent of Australian businesses attract international buyers (Australian Institute of Business Brokers, 2013), ProScribe’s success is quite remarkable. Professor Woolley said: “We hope our business strategy, to be ethical, internationally recognised, and respected in the Asia-Pacific region, might help other businesses to position themselves to attract international buyers.  Doing so can bring great rewards, not just for your clients and staff, but also for the local economy.”
