Council-owned vacant land at 14-18 Earl Street, Tewantin, may be given over for community use for up to a maximum of 20 years and, if this takes place, it opens the way for heritage building, Tait Duke Cottage, to be relocated from Wallace Park, Noosaville.
Earlier this month Noosa Council discussed Earl Street as a site for the cottage but agreed the potential future Gibson Road extension, included in the council’s transport network planning, could prevent this happening. On Tuesday the infrastructure and services committee received a report from council’s planning and infrastructure officer, Odd Bjorn Ludvigsen, stating that based on road network capacity issues for the next 20 years the construction of the extension should be deferred until all stages of Eenie Creek Road had been constructed. The general committee will discuss the report on Monday.
