Local author and librarian Allison Paterson is set to release her second children’s book and Grandma is sure happy about it.
Granny’s Place, released this month, is based on Allison’s childhood memories of cousins gathering at Grandma and Grandpa’s farm.
“It has a lovely sense of adventure, gently deals with grief and celebrates the relationships that children share with their grandparents,” Allison said.
Allison’s previous books are Anzac Sons: the Story of Five Brothers in the War to End All Wars, which was published in November, 2014 and the children’s version Anzac Sons: Five Brothers on the Western Front published in April, 2015.
The children’s version of Anzac Sons has been longlisted in the Australian Book Industry Awards for small publisher children’s category, one of eight, and also longlisted as a notable book in the Children’s Book Council of Australia Book of the Year Awards.
Check out Alison’s latest book Granny’s Place at the book launch to be held at the Written Dimension Book Shop, Noosa Junction, on 7 May at 11am.
