Melbourne Cup visits Noosa

By JONATHON HOWARD

EVERY year Australia stops to witness one of the world’s greatest horse races, the Melbourne Cup, and this year the coveted cup will be visiting Noosa in October.
The $175,000, 18-carat gold Emirates Melbourne Cup is currently touring around Australia before the cup returns to Melbourne for the big race on Tuesday, 4 November.
Noosa’s Cindy LeBrun, at Integrated Animal Health, tendered to have Noosa included in the cup’s tour.
“Locally based international company Integrated Animal Health are very proud to be hosting the tour in Noosa,” she said.
Mrs LeBrun said it was a chance for the whole community to get a glimpse of one of Australia’s most converted trophies.
“The tour will include visits to local schools, retirement villages, charity luncheon at Ricky’s River Bar and Restaurant, the Noosa Heads Surf Club and more,” she said.
The 2014 Emirates Melbourne Cup will return to Melbourne on Monday, 27 October, kicking off the celebrations leading into the Melbourne Cup Carnival.
The running of the 154th Emirates Melbourne Cup is on Tuesday 4 November 2014.
