Big-screen winter fun

By Hollie Harris

Event Cinemas is gearing up for a pint-sized takeover this June/July with the introduction of their winter school holiday program. Jam-packed with the biggest family blockbusters and free arts and crafts activities, the school holiday program is an extravaganza of film themed fun, rolling out at Event Cinema Noosa.
Little ones will be spoiled for choice with a stellar line-up of fun films this winter. Watch the legendary Lightning McQueen zoom past the competition in the exhilarating Cars 3. Join the return of Greg and his crazy family in the hilarious Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul. Or team up with the Minions for some mischief in Despicable Me 3.
There will be free artistic activities that’ll have kids using their minds, hands and creativity to make artworks to take home as a memory of their day out at the movies with mum and dad.
Make your favourite Wimpy Kid character and laugh out loud with some hilarious Diary of a Wimpy Kid masks. Kids can also design their own book cover just like the author of the Wimpy Kid series, Jeff Kinney.
Children with a need for speed can get ready for the Florida 500 and create their very own Cars 3 Pit Pass and Driver’s License or transform themselves through DIY by making their own Minion goggles. Pint-sized Picassos can also showcase their colouring abilities for the Despicable Me colour in competition and get the chance to win a totally awesome Despicable Me 3 prize pack!
This fun, affordable day out with the entire family is made easy and affordable with the Cinebuzz Family Pass. Cinebuzz Members can see Cars 3, Despicable Me 3, or Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul at a discounted price** all throughout the school holidays. Available in variations of Admit 3 of 4, the Family Pass ranges in price from $30-$50.
Bigger kids won’t miss out either with action-loving teens in for a treat when autobots roll out in Transformers: The Last Knight, while Spider-Man: Homecoming will have Marvel fans rejoicing as the web-slinging superhero zooms through high rise buildings to take on a new villain named Vulture.
Check out screening and activity times at www.eventcinemas.com.au and start planning your trip to the movies!
