Sensational jazz vocalist Elly Hoyt features as the next Imperial Jazz Club special guest, performing at The Imperial Hotel Eumundi on Saturday 1 July.
Elly will be accompanied by the David Bentley Trio (DB3).
Elly consistently captures audiences with her soulful seductive voice. From a very young age, she has had the ability to invoke the charge given to past greats and take it somewhere new.
She first paved her way into the Australian jazz scene when she won the prestigious Generation in Jazz vocal scholarship in 2008, judged by James Morrison who said “From the moment I first heard Elly sing, I knew she had that classic, indefinable thing that makes one a jazz singer. It’s not just a sound, or a choice of notes but a way of approaching a song that lets the listener know – this is the real thing.“
