No grants for three applicants

By JONATHON HOWARD

NOOSA Council has knocked back three out of five applicants for the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) first rounds of grant funding.
The Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) supports cultural activity through the professional development and employment of arts and cultural workers in regional Queensland.
RADF is a partnership between State Government, through Arts Queensland and Noosa Council.
A total of five applications were received, requesting $31,954, however, council found that only two applications totalling $14,400 were recommended for council’s consideration and endorsement.
The two recipients were Florence Teillet ($9400) for the inclusive community theatre show and Rene Bahloo for the weave heal connected – Creating for Landcare.
Heart of Pomona, Inside Outside Theatre Company and Noosa Junction Association, all missed out.
This is the first grant round in the 2014/’15 financial year and there will be a second grant round in March 2015.
The total available amount for each of these grant rounds is $20,000.
