A good field supported the Tuesday Jackpot Pairs.
Lester Krosch and Bob Andrews were the winners on the day with Russell Butler and Col Gilmour runners up.
Jeff Halls, a visitor from down south took home the $50 Noosa Lifestyle consistency prize.
The welcome storms cancelled play for the Business Bowlers on Wednesday night but Thursday night’s balmy conditions meant some great games with close finishes.
Golden Girls had their first win over 101’s. Go girls!
JeLS now sits in the lead position.
This week is the last game in the series so they will go home the victors.
Eumundi Boys, Bushrangers and Kybong Kids sit on second place.
Their games this week will be the decider.
Saturday Jackpot Pairs was well supported with visitors from Yandina.
Bevan Mahoney and Gwyn Bruce had a convincing win with +26.
Noosa Heads Bowls – The Chalker
The annual titanic challenge between Noosa and Tewantin was held last Friday night at Noosa.
This time the locals came out on top to wrest the trophy from last year’s winners.
Overall the Noosa Heads bowlers scored by 164 shots to 149, taking 5 rinks to 2.
Tuesday’s men’s pairs winners were Allan Pearson and Andrew McCall.
Runners-up prize went to Bob King and Neville Craig with Ross Ward and Bob Heir taking winner of the first round losers.
The Wednesday ladies triples contest was won by Judith Boakes, Lis Thomson and Sly Foulds.
Neville Graham and Walter Horne combined to take out the Friday Jackpot Pairs.
Runners-up prize was taken by Jenny Smith and Sam Hands.
Consolation winners were Bob Ginnaw and Marion Foster.
In Night Pennant the club’s players scored in men’s and mixed pairs at Pacific Paradise but went down to the hosts on the other three rinks, thus losing 2 points to 6.
This week Noosa is at home to Tewantin on Thursday night at 6pm.
The final Noosa 1500 of the year will be played next Monday.
Again there is a full sheet of entries for this Open Pairs day which offers big prize money in the two-game format.
Tewantin Noosa Bowls – Green Master
The Titanic Shield was won by Noosa Heads on Friday night.
It was an enjoyable evening and Noosa members were good hosts and the club get to compete against them again this week in Night Pennant.
Devine Dental, Tuesday Ladies, Mixed, Triples
Winners were Evelyn Coghlan, Van Vignon and Margaret Dunstan.
Runners up were Valmai Lynch, Sue Gray and Pat Becker.
John Madill’s Wednesday Men’s Pairs
Winners were Peter Richardson and John Watt (2 wins +19pts).
Pairs runners up were Dan Cameri and Ian Sanday (1 win + 13 pts).
Triples winners were Rick McDonald, Sno Jocelyn and Jim McDonald (21pts).
The Jackpot $30 was not won and carries over.
Noosa Landscape Supplies Friday Open Triples
Winners were Gwen Steel, Alan Laird and Bert de Koster.
Runners up were Dennis Burgess, Ross Carroll and Pauline Mohr.
The Jackpot of $93 was not won and carries over.
It’s a big week for the club this week with Presentation Night at 6pm on Saturday, Ladies trophies at 6.30pm, Men’s trophies at 6.45pm and dinner will be served at 7pm.
Double Championship Sunday with the Men’s Fours
Team Ramsden v Team Evans and the Handicap Singles. Finalists ‘yet to be decided’.
