Dolphins out-scrum New Zealand!

By LUCY WHITEHILL

NOOSA DOLPHINS
THE Noosa Dolphins Under 15 team are busy on their annual 10-day tour of New Zealand, where they will see some field action against the might of the NZ team.
Sunday saw Noosa play their first game in New Zealand in what was a great hit out against Macleans College.
The early rain in the warm up – and anticipated showers in the first 20 minutes – didn’t deter the team and once the boys got into rhythm they started to showcase their skills.
The forwards were sensational and made many metres, but the highlight was when the Dolphins out-scrummed the NZ side winning all of their own and all of the NZ scrums, except one. The final result was 7-7.
The club is thankful for having the chance to play in such a beautiful location and the welcoming hospitality. Swim the Phins!
Back on the homeland, the Noosa Dolphins made their presence felt at the Sunshine Coast Stingrays presentations at Sienna Catholic College, Sippy Downs.
The teams had their two hour training sessions, followed by individual team presentation of their kit and then a combined presentation of the jerseys in front of all age groups, parents, coaches and management sides.
Noosa Dolphins has a great number of boys representing their club with six players in the Under 12 development squad being the first Stingrays represented age group. Under 13 has one player from Noosa Dolphins and seven Noosa Dolphins players made it into the Under 14 team with seven from Under 16.
These players have gained the opportunity to compete at the State Championships from 1 July at The Southport School (TSS) on the Gold Coast.
