Workout keeps men on the move

By JONATHON HOWARD

NOOSA residents are invited to a charity workout event to raise funds and awareness for National Men’s Health Week, 8-15 June.
The event will be hosted by Noosa fitness coach Leevi Romanik, who feels passionately about creating awareness around men’s health issues.
“Us males may seem tough on the outside but our average life expectancy is lower than women and we outrank them in death rates in heart disease, car accident, liver disease, suicide and lung cancer – just to name a few,” he said.
Mr Romanik said the topic of men’s health was also a very personal one.
“I’ve had some health issues where I didn’t know where to turn and where to get support – it was a tough time and finding the right people really helped me through,” he said. “So I got the idea to do a charity workout event.”
Mr Romanik encouraged both males and females of all ages to attend.
The cost is $10 and attendees will go through a group workout with all proceeds going towards the Men’s Health charity.
The charity event will take place at the Girraween Sports Complex, Noosa, on Saturday 14 June, from 7am to 8am.
