POMONA BOWLS
WEDNESDAY Ladies played scroungers which was enjoyed by all, with the overall winner being Jeanne Price, who had a “pick of the box“ trophy.
Saturday was the semi-final of the Mixed Fours between Rick Goulding, Gaye Bible, Bill Alford and skip Veronis O’Connor against Glenn Johnson, John Davies, Sharon Foale and skip Tina Camp.
There was some rain, but not enough to halt play. A close game with some excellent shots played, however the end result gave the O’Connor team the win.
The second semi-final between team Dewhirst and team Muir is yet to be played.
On Sunday, the final game of Mountain Men v River Men was held at Pomona.
Luckily the Mountain Men played like champions and won the day by eight shots which means they have won the overall tally for the 2016 year.
Congratulations Mountain Men – and thanks to Greg Hodder for organising the games this year.
Saturday Men’s AGM – 2017 Committee is President Bob Andrews, Vice President Patrick Gray-Spence, Secretary Charlie Dewhirst, Games Director Rob Roebuck, Selectors Keith Muir, John Davies and Sam Hands.
