THERE will be no bus to Poona for nudists after activist Robin Bristow left empty-handed from Member for Noosa Glen Elmes’ office on Monday (28 November).
Mr Bristow and two supporters went to Mr Elmes’ office to see if he would fund a bus to Poona for nudists, but as it was a parliamentary sitting week, Mr Elmes was in Brisbane.
In media reports last week, Mr Elmes said he would happily send nudists to Poona on a bus in response to claims nudists were being unfairly targeted by police at A-Bay.
Mr Bristow wanted to “hold Mr Elmes to his word” and asked if he would fund the bus trip up to Poona for nudists.
A spokesperson for Mr Elmes said anyone who had read his comments about a bus to Poona would know that it was made tongue in cheek.
“Mr Bristow has once again misquoted Mr Elmes and that is why he stands by his decision to not engage with him,” the spokesperson said.
