Noosa Council presents the Noosa Come-n-Try Sports Arvo to give primary school age kids a chance to try out some winter sports ahead of the winter season.
Local sporting groups will provide free fun activities in soccer, tennis, rugby league, gymnastics, rugby union, orienteering and AFL on Wednesday 15 February, 3pm-5.30pm.
The event will be held at Sel Bonnel Oval, Cooroy Sports Complex, Mary River Road, Cooroy.
Council’s community development manager, Alison Hamblin, said past Come-n-Try afternoons have been very popular with local kids.
“It’s really a great afternoon out. The kids have a healthy snack before they start, and then they have a go at a wide range of winter sports for about two hours. It gives them a great taste of each to help them choose what they’d like to take up,” she said.
“It’s always fun, and it’s really helpful for the local groups that get a few extra sign-ups for the winter season.”
