Fancy some hair mulch on your garden? Use it to soak up oil spills.
Surrender Dorothy Hair Salon hopes this will be the future for their waste hair which adds up to about two kilograms or a medium rubbish bin full each week.
Louise Turton said the salon was looking for sustainable ways to dispose of their waste and knowing of hair’s water soaking properties they hope to find a gardener or landscaper willing to take their spare hair away.
Adopting products that are chemical-free and not tested on animals were other ways the salon was reducing its harm to the environment.
