TOUCH FOOTBALL

WITH the warmer weather nearly upon us the touch action was also heating up last week.
The Under-14/16 division saw some interesting matchups including Inferno being pushed for the entire game against STCC (girls) – Ruby, Sophie, James S. and Pip played strongly.
NDSHS 9s accounted for a SBSHS team, short on numbers this week, with Cheyenne, Tiarne and Ashleigh showing great play.
NDSHS 8s (green) took on GSLC (girls) and came away with the win. Abbey, Kalen, Kate and Jaidyn produced first rate games. NDSHS 8’s (blue) never gave up in their match with Sunshine Rebels with Isabella, Chloe, Jessica and Mary all putting in for the entire match for their teams. NDSHS 8’s (boys) gave Average Joe’s a run for their money with Billy, Bodi and Thomas leading the way.
GSLC (boys) and STCC (Pansies) played an entertaining brand of touch with STCC taking the win. Nicholas, Zac, Jack and Ed had stellar games.
In Under 10’s the Purple Panther girls went down fighting against Screaming Iguanas. Anna, Paige, Ethan and Lilliana all played well. Blazers and GSLC (girls) played a fast-paced match with Harley, Pedro and Lexie putting in mighty performances, and in a close result the Mexican Amigos got the points against Pink Storm. A first-rate games from Ben, Joel, Evie and Jak.
There were some ever-improving skills on display in the Under 12s. Banana Splits fought the good fight against an unflinching Saints outfit with Amy, Abbi and Jack and Noah K. producing stellar efforts. With only a difference of two touchdowns, Vipers only just got home over That Cool Team. James, Floyd, Charlotte and Lucy were outstanding. GSLC (girls) and Purple Storm played a great game with Sienna, Charlotte and Charlize playing strongly. Devils had the edge over Scorpions with Ariel, Flynn and Javier playing well.
Until the next touchdown.
