Junction traders get their fill

By JONATHON HOWARD

A WAVE of optimism is sweeping across the Noosa Junction as several new businesses open their doors and empty spaces begin to fill.
It has been more than three years since the Junction has had so many retailer with two new shops open last week, one upstairs in Mitre 10 called Sticky Digital and a homeware/antique shop on Lanyana Way.
Sadly, the brewery is not going ahead, however the whole shop has been leased with talk of a new restaurant filling the void.
Wholesale Grains will also open in two weeks downstairs in the Mitre 10 building.
Designer cake and cafe next to Pizza Capers will also open in the next few weeks.
Noosa Junction Traders Association president Sue Pollard said the former Tabacco Shop should be replaced by a new cafe, although no timeframe has yet been set.
“We are all ready for the Wine and Food Flava on Saturday 15 November we have 17 food outlets together with entertainment, beer and wine,” she said.
“We have held two networking trader nights now, last week we held it at Franks Gym, the month before that we had it at Shades wine bar.
“Noosa Council CEO Brett de Castel and other councillors attended together with a great attendance from the traders.”
Mrs Pollard said the wave of optimism was present during the meetings.
“For the first time the feedback from these two nights have been very positive from council and traders,” she said.
“We are encouraging traders to have a networking night at their premises, and the response is good.”
