Noosa ready to jazz it up

NOOSA’S annual Jazz Party is heating up with 10 days of jam-packed events ready to satisfy even the most enthusiast jazz lover.
Get ready to block out your calendars as over 30 musicians descend on Noosa for another fun-filled, jazz-infused party celebrating great music in the most scenic of destinations.
The party starts with two concerts ‘New Orleans to The Met’ featuring The Australian Jazz Ensemble lead by Bob Barnard, in conjunction with Noosa Chorale, at The J, Noosa Junction, on 26 and 27 August.
The centrepiece of the event is four nights of improvised jazz at The J, from 1 to 4 September. Each night will consist of one-hour sets of fabulous jazz featuring Australia’s top jazz musicians.
A number of luncheon and dinner venues featuring Jazz Party jazz musicians have already been locked in and more are being arranged to provide a jazz festival atmosphere in Hastings Street, Sunshine Beach, Noosaville and Noosa Harbour.
Another popular Riverboat Shuffle from Hastings Street to Noosa Harbour is planned during the week leading up to Thursday 1 September.
Noosa Council has again sponsored a free public concert on Sunday 4 September from 2pm to 4pm at the Lions Riverstage, Gympie Terrace, that will feature most of the musicians brought to Noosa for the Jazz Party.
Check for details of the line-up of musicians and venues on the Noosa Jazz Party website www.noosajazzclub.com or phone the Jazz Club on 5447 2229 for information and to purchase your early bird discount tickets.
