THE community turned out in support of the Sunshine Hospice last week with a concert held to raise much-needed funds for the charity.
The charity concert held on Sunday 22 May at the Good Shepherd College Hall held over 160 guests who enjoyed performances by the internationally recognised Esk Choir, local poet Ian MacKay, soloist Toukie Wood and mandolin player Sue Flower.
The concert raised over $4000 for the Sunshine Hospice with further fund-raising efforts already underway including a raffle to win a painting by local artist Tricia Bradford.
Ms Bradford donated the painting, said to be worth $800, to be raffled in a bid to raise funds for the hospice.
The painting is currently on display at the Sunshine Hospice Op Shop located at The Atrium, 91 Poinciana Avenue, Tewantin. Tickets are $2 each or three for $5 and available at the op shop. The winner will be drawn in store on Friday 10 June.
