On track for book success

AUTHOR, actor and scriptwriter Judy Nunn is coming to Noosa for the release of her 13th novel Spirits of the Ghan.
Judy’s visit to Noosa will be part of a month-long, seven state tour celebrating the release of her latest novel that tells the tale of two people completing the Ghan rail line.
Spirits of the Ghan tells the tale of a century-old dream realised in the early part of this century; the completion of the Ghan railway.
The novel follows the journey of Jess Manning, an Indigenous Australian whose role as negotiator between the Elders and the railway has earnt her respect among all involved, and Matthew Witherton, a senior surveyor overseeing construction of the line.
When their paths finally cross, their respective cultures collide to reveal a mystery that demands attention, and could well affect the completion of the mighty railway.
Spirits of the Ghan is based primarily in Alice Springs and is the result of a long-held desire of Judy’s to set a novel in the red heart of Australia.
Judy will be in Noosa on Friday 13 November for a three-course lunch at the Noosa Boathouse, from noon. Tickets are $49 per person and are available from Mary Ryan Noosa.
