Nippers kept on the move

LAST Sunday, the Sunshine Beach Nippers fronted to a beach more resemblant of the North Short of Hawaii than the open beaches of the Sunshine Coast.
With swell in the two to three metre range and a solid shore break, it was decided after much deliberation and discussion with the resident patrol captain that the Nippers would live to fight another day when it came to water events.
With that decision out of the way, it was decided however to redirect Nipper energy to the beach events of flags, sprints and wades.
With typical gusto, the Nippers took on each challenge with the spirit and vigour that we are used to seeing with this fantastic bunch of kids.
Next weekend the super sporty under-14s and under-15s will head down to Maroochydore for the Murphy Builders two-day carnival. This carnival is a great lead up to the branch titles. A week later the powerhouse under-8s to under-10s will take on the epic swells of the Redcliffe Peninsula, while the under-11s to under-14s will wait a further week before competing at their own branch titles, which are being held as per previous years at the beautiful Dicky Beach.
In mid-March, the under-11 to under-15 Queensland State Youth Titles will grace North Burleigh before our under-14s and under-15s return to Maroochydore for the Aussie titles.
It’s a very busy next two months and with training ramping up out of the holiday break, there’s sure to be some awesome results to report over the coming weeks.
