Artists set to stretch and grow

ARTISTS are invited to enter the Taste of Art Emerging Artist Award 2017 at the Friends of Noosa Regional Gallery.
This award aims to stimulate the professional development of emerging artists in the region and give them support by connecting them to an established, art-loving audience as they grow in confidence.
It also allows artists to stretch their practice into their own solo show in the Noosa Regional Gallery.
Friends Noosa Regional Gallery encourages 2D and 3D artists who are developing a spirited approach to new ideas and techniques and being an individual from digital to practical adaptation of forms in expressing their own developing art style.
The awards help to encourage artists to create a body of work to offer to the gallery for a solo exhibition.
The Friends Noosa Regional Gallery and NCBA will award a monetary prize of $750 to the artist to be used for developing their solo exhibition which will be scheduled to be part of Taste of Art 2018.
Noosa Regional Gallery will gift the artist a feature installation in Gallery Three to hang in conjunction with Taste of Art 2018.
The gallery will assist the emerging artist with curatorial reviews and exhibition development – valued at $750.
To enter for this award, the emerging artist must be a resident of the Sunshine Coast or south-east Queensland, had not held a solo exhibition in a gallery, whose sole income is not a product of their artwork and has not received national or international recognition of their art.
Entries can be 2D or 3D artworks made in the past 12 months.
Both member and entry forms with information can be found on the Noosa Regional Gallery web site www.noosaregionalgallery.com.au.
Delivery of artworks for the exhibition to the Noosa Regional Gallery is on Monday 23 January 2017 from 11am-3pm.
Entries close on 18 December.
