The Financial Reviews Australia’s Top 100 restaurants, as voted by those in the know, Australia’s chefs and restaurateurs, was announced on Monday evening. With only four Queensland restaurants making the cut, local Noosa restaurant Wasabi Restaurant and Bar took out the top spot, ranking number one in Queensland and number 48 overall.
Executive chef and co-owner Zeb Gilbert was happy to be included once again in the top 100.
“We are thrilled to be included again in the Financial Reviews top 100 and to take out number one spot in Queensland is great, especially considering we are a regional restaurant,” Zeb said.
Wasabi has gone from strength to strength over the past 12 months. Last year they ranked 74th on the list.
“We are really grateful to have jumped 26 spots in a list of just 100 places. Especially considering that over that time we opened two new businesses, The Cooking School Noosa and Ibento Boutique Event Space. We promised our customers that Wasabi would continue to grow and evolve during this busy time and recognition like this helps us to show them we kept to our word.”
Zeb says that the hard-working team members who work across the three businesses are what make The Wasabi Group a success.
“We couldn’t do it without them, they are the key to our success,“ he said.
