Authentic French feel

By Hollie Harris

For a truly exotic French dining experience, you simply can’t go past a jewel in the Hinterlands crown, Maison de Provence in Cooroy.
The kitchen is busy every morning baking up the freshest pastries and breads, and if you haven’t tried their Milles Feuilles pastry, your tastebuds have yet to live!
Pastry chef Kalila is back for her 5th year of baking the highest of quality French goodies. She uses French flour for the yeast-free batard and traditional recipes for pain de campagne, light ryes, baguettes, long rye and miche or olive, rosemary and onion. Why settle for a plain old loaf, when you can have authentic French breads?
Then there’s the seductive list of almond or chocolate croissants, lemon curd slices, opera, sweets and cakes unlike any you have tasted before. When you savour the flavours and detail in a Maison de Provence sweet, the first thing you do is close your eyes and smile.
Made with fresh produce off local farms, the food really does go from farm to plate, and with lunch menus constantly changing, you will love the variety of flavours and choices every time you visit Maison de Provence.
A unique menu item you must try is the Escargot, imported from France and cooked fresh in house in a saute of garlic, butter, parsley and golden shallots.
With the warm French feel in every nook and cranny of Maison de Provence, you will truly feel a thousand miles away.
The perfect meeting place for friends and family to come together and share fine food, organic loose-leaf teas and an inspired menu of French cuisine, Maison de Provence continues to deliver the same beautiful experience from breakfast through to lunch or simply dessert.
Indulge in the fine details at Maison de Provence, at 13 Garnett Street, Cooroy, from 8am-4pm Tuesday to Saturday.
