THE shooting down of Maylasian Airlines flight MH17 has sent shockwaves through the community as efforts to access the wreckage remain on hold.
A total of 28 Australian residents and citizens were among 298 victims of flight MH17, which was shot down by a missile strike over Ukraine on 17 July.
As a message of support and compassion for the families of those victims onboard, Noosa MP Glen Elmes has offered a condolence book for Noosa residents to sign.
The condolence book is available at Mr Elmes’ office at the Noosa Civic and residents have already started taking up the offer.
“This is an opportunity for the community to let those affected by this tragedy know that they are not grieving alone and that all Queenslanders are thinking of them during this sad time,” Mr Elmes said.
The condolence book will be sent to the Premier’s department for collation and presentation to the next of kin and families.
The final day to sign the condolence book will be Friday 8 August.
