Anzac Day sail

As Anzac Day is one of the most important dates on the calendar, Noosa Yacht and Rowing Club sailors commemorated the day on the beautiful Noosa River with a special memorial race. After attending services, local sailors made their way to NYRC to honour those who have sacrificed their lives to preserve the lifestyle and freedom we now enjoy. Vice Commodore Durn Dart organised a beautiful perpetual trophy featuring a figurine of a digger resting on reverse arms. The “Cheers Everybody” team were this year’s winners of the event and are parents of currently serving ADF personnel and so were very proud to be awarded the inaugural trophy. Many thanks to Durn, volunteers, staff and competitors helped to make this a memorable and respectful event. After recent months of less than optimal sailing conditions, ANZAC Day offered up glorious sailing weather on the river and attracted a good fleet of boats.
