Allen’s swapping courts

ONE Noosa solicitor has swapped the court room for a basketball court as she takes part in the Australian junior girls’ basketball championships in Brisbane.
Fiona Allen of SPM Law Noosa has always had a love for basketball and is excited to take leave from the law firm and give back to the sport she loves.
Fiona will take up the role of referee commissioner, managing the team of referees, for the nation-wide championship that will see 24 teams fight for the top spot through a round-robin series from 29 September to 4 October.
Fiona said she was a huge supporter of basketball and delighted to be part of such a great competition.
“Australian Junior Championships provide young basketballers with the opportunity to play in an elite tournament representing their club, school or state on the national stage,” she said.
“These championships are an important stepping stone in the career of Australian basketballers.”
Fiona will be joined by another Noosa local, Michael D’Arcy who is also a huge part of the referee team acting as assistant commissioner.
Michael has recently finished a degree in political economy and economics and is now completing his honours degree in Political Economy at University of Queensland.
