Big bucks at golf day

Noosa heads Surf Club GM Anton Mogg, Australian cricket team coach Darren Lehmann, Tewantin Noosa Golf Club's Allan Harris and major sponsor Lion's Brett Quarry.

GOLFERS flocked to support the annual John Piercy Memorial golf day at Tewantin Noosa golf club last week, with Mother Nature turning on the perfect weather for a round of golf.
All in the name of charity, the golf day has been marked a huge success once again with over $25,000 raised for local kids in need.
The memorial golf day on 19 September saw almost 40 teams take to the green in support of local kids and a number of local businesses chipped in with raffle prizes and donations.
Event organiser Glenn “Puck” Puckeridge said the day was perfect, with great weather only helping to make the day a success.
The event, now in its eighth year, has raised more than $240,000 for local charities and children in need which is donated to organisations and charities through Smile For A Child.
This year, five lots of $5000 will be donated to local organisations who have asked for help in providing services to sick children and the community.
Smile For A Child is the initiative of six clubs in the Noosa area; Sunshine Beach SLSC, Noosa Heads Surf Club, Noosa Yacht and Rowing Club, Tewantin Noosa RSL, Tewantin Noosa Golf Club and Cooroy RSL in partnership with Clubs QLD.
