Warm welcome is its own reward

IF you’ve had an outstanding customer service experience in Noosa, Tourism Noosa wants to know about it.
Those nominated will be in the running to take out the top honour of the Welcome to Noosa Customer Service Awards, which will be held monthly to acknowledge those who go above and beyond the call of duty.
The Welcome to Noosa campaign was launched 18 months ago and since then 1200 local employees and employers have completed the program, which aims to arm tourism operators and their staff with local knowledge to share with visitors.
The awards will consist of a monthly best employee of Noosa and a business of the year. Employers, employees or visitors can nominate the best employee of Noosa, but of course, there is a very positive catch to winning – the employee must have completed the Welcome to Noosa campaign to be eligible.
Tourism Noosa CEO Damien Massingham said the Welcome to Noosa campaign was all about sharing local knowledge with visitors to help make their time in Noosa even better.
“We have the local knowledge and the best kept secrets,” he said.
“We have what we know to be beautiful … and we can share that with visitors. We now have an army out there, sharing local knowledge.”
Tourism Noosa industry development manager Juanita Bloomfield said a number of nominations had already been received.
“People are really excited about the awards, especially the employers,” she said.
Nominations must be on the official Welcome to Noosa nomination forms supplied at businesses or alternatively, through the website www.vistnoosa.com.au/awards.
