YOU may have noticed Telstra public phone boxes have had a makeover. Telstra has joined up with global Hotspot provider, FON, to update the old orange boxes to pink wi-fi Hotspots.
Telstra is working towards creating Australia’s largest wi-fi network and has rolled out a free wi-fi trial across Australia during the summer.
This service is available for both Telstra and non-Telstra customers who have a wi-fi enabled device.
Free wi-fi is available for 30 minutes for up to a 50-metre radius from any of the pink public phone boxes.
You can find 10 hotspots in Noosa and one hotspot in Sunshine Beach, to find your closest hotspot log onto www.Telstra.com/wifi and enter your postcode.
